We chose to do this couples photography session at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine. It was the perfect location for these two, with a ton of scenic backgrounds and real Texan flair. It had been raining all day, but we were still able to get all the benefits of an outdoor photo shoot (natural light, great backdrops) at this location. Shannon helped us keep with the Texan theme by styling Sondie's hair into big romantic curls, a real compliment to her country chic attire. Travis and Sondie both rocked awesome cowboy boots for this photo shoot! They were a really fun couple to photograph :) Thank you guys for such a fun shoot! Enjoy the pictures below:

Kaci's Bridals-Grapevine Botanical Gardens
Pre-shoot makeup and hair by Shannon |
Shannon and I had a blast this past Saturday doing Kaci's Bridal session. We dodged the rain and lucked out with some beautiful weather and morning sunlight. We met Kaci at her house Saturday morning since she also scheduled to have her hair and makeup done by Shannon. Bridal's are a good time to test out the hair and makeup ideas you are considering for your wedding day. For Kaci, this was a post-wedding bridal session, so we were able to have some fun trying to recreate her wedding day look.
I had several ideas in mind for photo shoot locations; all in all we ending up taking photos at: Parker Square in Flower Mound, Grapevine Botanical Gardens, and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. It was such a fun day, Kaci's vintage lace wedding dress was gorgeous and added something special to all her pictures. Check out our favorites below:

Ashley and Marc's Colorado Wedding
I was lucky enough to spend the past weekend in Dillon, Colorado, celebrating the marriage of Marc and Ashley. The Lake Dillon Condominiums provided the perfect mountain backdrop for their outdoor wedding, as well as convenient lodging for their guests. Ashley and Marc are both nature and animal enthusiasts. It only made sense for their wedding to be where their hearts are, in the mountains. They also made sure to include their two dogs, Sassy and Gretchen, who played the roles of ring bearer and flowergirl. The well behaved pups were very excited to see their owners tie the knot. This interfaith wedding included several Jewish traditions. Members from the bride and groom's families carefully assembled the chuppah prior to the ceremony. This canopy served as a symbol of the home Ashley and Marc will create together; it is open on all sides to illustrate their unconditional hospitality. The wedding ceremony cheerfully ended with the breaking of the glass, and all guests shouting "Mazel Tov!!"
I give my sincere congratulations to the newly weds! It was an amazing wedding weekend, and I'm so glad I got to share it with both of you!

Man's Best Friend
It's hard to think of bond greater than the one that exists between a man and his dog. Family pets in general make such amazing companions and they absolutely are the best listeners out there. It's clear to see why I was thrilled when Jeff and his dog, Mumford, wanted to do a photo mini-session today. Mumford is a rescue dog with a heart of gold. He is an inquisitive dog who loves people, chasing squirrels, getting treats, and most of all his owner Jeff. We decided to take advantage of the cooler temps and hit up a local community park. Check out our favorite shots of the day:

There's more to Kansas than corn fields
Over the labor day weekend we packed up the car and drove to Kansas. No, we weren't going to visit Toto and Dorothy, but instead, my oldest brother, his wife, and my brand new niece. I was meeting baby Natalie for the first time, and boy oh boy, she is adorable! We enjoyed the nice long weekend spending quality time as a family, relaxing in the surprisingly pleasant weather, and of course taking a lot of pictures! I couldn't resist posting up a few of my favorite shots.
Such a beautiful family, I can't wait to do their family portraits when they come down to visit over Thanksgiving!
